Mamata ‘rushes’ to I-PAC chief Pratik Jain's house in Kolkata amid ED raid, Hindustan Times
High drama erupted in West Bengal's Kolkata on Thursday when chief minister Mamata Banerjee “rushed” to the residence of Pratik Jain, the head of top political consultancy group I-PAC, amid Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, during which she claimed officials attempted to seize her party Trinamool Congress's (TMC) hard disks as well as internal documents and sensitive data. Hindustan Times reports that search operations, which ED said were linked to a money laundering case investigation, were also conducted at the office of the I-PAC, (Indian Political Action Committee), which does political consultancy for West Bengal ruling party TMC and also looks after its IT and media cell. US leaves India-headquartered International Solar Alliance after Trump order: Indian Express

United States President Donald Trump withdrew the country from 66 international organisations — including 31 United Nations Organisations — via an executive order on Wednesday. Indian Express repots that the latest withdrawal is a more expansive step in a process Trump began in January 2025, under his second presidential term. He directed the Secretary of State to conduct a review of all international intergovernmental organisations that the US was a member of or funded. Also on the list is the International Solar Alliance (ISA), which is headquartered in India, the report says. Read the full report here.
Al Jazeera reports, Palestine Action hunger strikers near death ‘intent’ on continuing protests
Heba Muraisi and Kamran Ahmed, Palestine Action-linked British activists on the brink of death, are determined to keep up their prison hunger strike until their demands are met, their friends and relatives have told Al Jazeera. They have refused food for 67 and 60 days, respectively, as part of a rolling protest that began in November. The report says that five of the eight individuals who have participated overall have ended their hunger strikes over health fears. Lewie Chiaramello, who turned 23 on Thursday, is the third prisoner also refusing food. Read the full report here.
Indian woman evacuated from Yemen's Socotra Island amid escalating conflict, NDTV reports
An Indian national who had been stranded on Socotra Island in Yemen for the past few weeks has been successfully evacuated and returned to India, NDTV reports according to India's mission in Yemen. The evacuation comes amid heightened political and military tensions in Yemen, which have disrupted air travel and stranded civilians and foreign nationals in several parts of the country. US immigration agent fatally shoots woman in Minneapolis, BBC reports

A US immigration agent has shot dead a 37-year-old woman in the city of Minneapolis, sparking protests overnight, BBC reports. Federal officials said the woman, Renee Nicole Good, had tried to run over immigration agents with her car but the city mayor said the agent who shot her had acted recklessly. Videos of the incident show ICE agents approaching a car which is in the middle of the street. As it attempts to drive off, one of them points his gun at the driver and at least two shots are heard, the report mentions. The FBI is investigating. Read the full report here.
