BJP's Samrat Choudhary to take oath as new Bihar CM, Hindustan Times

Samrat Choudhary has been elected as the BJP legislative party leader in Bihar at the NDA meeting in Patna, Hindustan Times reports, paving way for him to take oath as the next chief minister of the state. Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation as chief minister on Tuesday, after dissolving his Cabinet following its last meeting today in Patna. he oath ceremony is likely to be held tomorrow, the report adds. Madhya Pradesh journalist dies after ambulance delay, NDTV reports

 

NDTV reports that a journalist who was critically injured in an accident died during treatment in Madhya Pradesh, a day after an ambulance failed to arrive on time to transport him to a medical facility. Deepak Soni, editor of the monthly magazine 'Swarn Mangalam', was critically injured in a road accident on Friday while on his way to attend an agricultural fair in Raisen. The Straits Times: Italy suspends defence agreement with Israel

Italy has suspended its defence agreement with Israel, which involves the exchange of military equipment and technology research, The Straits Times reports as per Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and diplomatic sources. An Italian diplomatic source confirmed to AFP that the agreement had been suspended, saying: “It would have been politically difficult to keep it going.” Approved by Israel in 2006, the agreement is reviewed every five years, the report says. Stalin escalates federal fight, invokes Tamil Nadu’s agitational past: Indian Express

In a sharply worded video message on Tuesday, Indian Express reports,Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin issued what he described as a “final warning” to the Union government over the proposed delimitation exercise, alleging that a Constitutional amendment was being pushed through without consultation during an ongoing election period. “Vanakkam. This video serves two purposes: to speak about the grave danger that has now reached the very doorstep of Tamil Nadu, and to issue a clear warning to the Union BJP government,” Stalin said, opening his address. US-sanctioned ships pass Strait of Hormuz as China calls Trump's blockade 'dangerous', BBC reports

 

At least four Iran-linked ships, including two that visited Iranian ports, crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday following the start of a blockade by the US, BBC reports. China's foreign ministry has condemned the American blockade of Iranian ports as "dangerous and irresponsible" - a spokesman warns the blockade will only "exacerbate tensions". The report said that Washington's blockade came into force on Monday - US Vice President JD Vance has accused Iran of "economic terrorism" and said "two can play at that game".
