Navi Mumbai International Airport To Begin Operations From December 25, NDTV reports

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) — India's newest Greenfield airport – will begin commercial operations from December 25 (Christmas Day) with 23 scheduled daily departures, it was announced on Tuesday. NDTV reports that in the first month, NMIA will operate for 12 hours — between 08:00 hours and 20:00 hours — handling 23 scheduled daily departures. Shashi Tharoor lauds PM Narendra Modi’s Ramnath Goenka Lecture: Indian Express

 

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ramnath Goenka Lecture “an economic outlook and a cultural call to action”, and said he was “glad to have been in the audience”, Indian Express reports. Modi on Monday delivered the sixth RNG lecture and spoke about reversing the “Western mindset”, the Bihar Assembly elections, and the Express Group founder Ramnath Goenka’s role in the freedom struggle and beyond. The report adds that taking to social media platform X,  Shashi Tharoor wrote that Modi spoke of “India’s “constructive impatience” for development and strongly pushed for a post-colonial mindset”. Brazil creates new Indigenous territories after COP30 protests, BBC reports

The government of Brazil has created 10 new Indigenous territories, after protesters urged action at the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém. BBC reports that the designation means the areas, including one in part of the Amazon, will have their culture and environment protected under Brazilian law - though this is not always enforced. The move follows similar actions from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, whose government recognised Indigenous possession of 11 territories last year. Just 3 states accounted for 30% of all auto sales in India before GST 2.0

Just three states accounted for 30 percent of all auto sales in India in July-September 2025, Hindustan  Times reports, underscoring the demand trends in these geographies even before GST 2.0 reduced prices of scooters to SUVs. A total of 10.39 lakh cars and 55.62 lakh two-wheelers were sold in the second quarter of the ongoing fiscal, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers on Tuesday. Hamas says UN resolution does not meet demands, Al Jazeera reports

 

Hamas said that a UN Security Council resolution backing Trump’s Gaza plan fails to meet the political and humanitarian demands of Palestinians. Al Jazeera reports that while the resolution does mention a possible future Palestinian state, it does so in a convoluted manner. Earlier, the UNSC approved the US ceasefire plan for Gaza, which includes the deployment of an international stabilisation force to the Strip, the report says. Authorities in Gaza said displaced Palestinians need at least 3,00,000 tents to shelter in as winter in the enclave deepens. Read the full report here.
