Relief for Maharashtra hotels, restaurants as commercial LPG quota hiked, NDTV reports
In a move aimed at easing supply pressures on Maharashtra's food service and allied sectors, NDTV reports that the Centre has approved an increase in the commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) allocation for the state to 50 percent of levels that were before the war broke out in the Middle East. The additional allocation, an extra 20 per cent supply over the current rate, has taken effect from today and remains in place until further notice, according to a communication issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to all chief secretaries. Previously, commercial LPG supplies had been capped at around 30 percent of the levels seen before the global energy disruption, the report adds. Read the full report here.
PM Modi says India must be prepared to face long-term effects of West Asia war: Indian Express live updates

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his address in the Lok Sabha by speaking about the West Asia conflict, Indian Express reports. He said, “The war in West Asia has put India in a tense situation.” He added that passage through the Strait of Hormuz has been challenging, and that India is in continuous touch with its citizens and is assisting them. The report adds that he further said, "India is focusing on security on all areas including coastal and cyber security. We have faced a similar situation during Covid era. Two killed after Canada Air jet hits fire truck at NYC’s LaGuardia airport, Al Jazeera
At least two people have been killed after an Air Canada Express flight from Montreal struck a ground vehicle while landing at New York’s LaGuardia, Al Jazeera reports according to several US media outlets. The airport has been closed and flights diverted. The report says that at least 13 other people, including 11 passengers and two first responders, were taken to hospital with injuries. Govt begins process for consensus on delinking women quota from census, delimitation: Hindustan Times
Hindustan Times reports that the government has begun reaching out to Opposition parties for a consensus on delinking the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam or the 128th Constitution (Amendment) Act, reserving a third of seats for women in national and state legislatures, from the condition that it will come into effect after delimitation and the census. The amendment is expected to be introduced during the ongoing Budget session of Parliament that ends on April 2. On Monday, Union home minister Amit Shah met leaders of the Biju Janata Dal, YSR Congress Party, Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar, Shiv Sena (UT) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen to discuss the proposed amendment, people aware of the matter said as per the report. Israeli settlers target Palestinian villages in occupied West Bank, BBC reports

Extremist Jewish settlers have carried out a spate of attacks on Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank, setting fire to homes, vehicles and agricultural fields, BBC reports. The violence began after a teenage settler - 18-year-old Yehuda Sherman - was killed on Saturday, after reportedly being hit by a vehicle driven by a Palestinian while on his quad bike. Police said they were investigating whether the hit was deliberate or accidental, the report mentions. In response, WhatsApp groups used by settlers called for a "revenge campaign" over his death.
