Strong earthquake tremors felt in Kolkata, NDTV reports
People in Kolkata came running out of buildings including homes, offices and schools after the earthquake that first struck Bangladesh reached the city, where old buildings stand in tight spaces, NDTV reports. People shared screenshots on social media of an earthquake alert received on their mobile phones. The report says that many ran out of apartment complexes and gathered in open areas. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, who was addressing a gathering, was seen taking a pause as the earthquake was felt at the venue. Read the full report here.

India and Israel on Thursday elevated their “time-tested” relationship to a special strategic partnership and agreed to finalise up a mutually beneficial free trade agreement even as PM Narendra Modi strongly backed the Gaza peace initiative, asserting that humanity must never become a victim of conflict. Indian Express reports that following talks between Modi and his Israeli counterpart, the two sides inked a plethora of agreements to expand cooperation in areas of trade, agriculture, energy, cyberspace and digital payment. odi addressed Israeli Parliament, the Knesset on Wednesday, where he described the Gaza Peace Initiative as a path for “just and durable peace” in the entire region even as he delivered a powerful message of solidarity to Israel, the report says. US-Iran talks end after 'significant progress', BBC reports
US and Iranian officials have made "significant progress" in high-stakes nuclear talks in Geneva, BBC reports as per the Omani foreign minister has said. But the chances of a deal that could avert a war remain unclear, the report adds. Badr Albusaidi, who acted as mediator, said the two sides planned to resume negotiations "soon" after consultations in their capitals and technical-level discussions would take place next week in Vienna. Kejriwal, Sisodia among 23 discharged in liquor policy case, Hindustan Times
Hindustan Times reports that all 23 people named in the Central Bureau of Investigation's Delhi excise or liquor policy case — including Delhi ex-CM Arvind Kejriwal, former deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Telangana politician K Kavitha, and AAP leader Vijay Nair — were discharged by Special Judge Jitender Singh. The court ruled there was "no overarching conspiracy or criminal intent" behind the excise policy and that the CBI had attempted to construct a narrative of conspiracy "based on conjecture rather than concrete evidence”. Fresh opinion polls ahead of Denmark's March 24 parliamentary election showed Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's Social Democrats nearing a majority with left-wing parties, The Straits Times reports, indicating an end to nearly four years of cross-partisan government. The election will determine whether voters reward Frederiksen for her defence of Danish sovereignty over Greenland and international leadership or criticize her government for what opponents see as neglect of domestic concerns.
