लोकसभा आणि विधानसभांमध्ये महिलांना एकतृतीयांश प्रतिनिधित्व देणारा ‘नारीशक्ती वंदन कायदा’ लागू करण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने राज्यघटनेतील तीन दुरुस्त्यांकरिता विधेयके आणली आहेत. मात्र महिला आरक्षणाच्या नावाखाली लोकसभा मतदारसंघ पुनर्रचनेचा घाट घालण्यात आल्याचा आरोप करत, काँग्रेससह प्रमुख विरोधी पक्षांनी या विधेयकांना आक्षेप घेतला आहे.
२०२६ नंतर होणारे संभाव्य नवे परिसीमन म्हणजेच मतदारसंघ पुनर्रचना आणि मतदारसंघ संख्याविस्तार यामुळे उत्तर व दक्षिण भारत यांच्यातील नाजूक प्रादेशिक समतोल बिघडू शकतो, अशी भीती अनेक नेते आणि तज्ज्ञ व्यक्त करत आहेत. त्यामुळे प्रश्न निर्माण होतो की, चुकीच्या पद्धतीने राबवले गेलेले परिसीमन भारताच्या एकात्मतेलाच धोका निर्माण करू शकते का?
